SECURITY & DATA HANDLING
How BankruptPro handles client data.
Read-only bank connection, no credit pull, an encrypted vault, and deletion on request — the same four facts, explained in full.
How a client's data moves
Client's bank
Client authenticates directly with their bank. BankruptPro never sees login credentials.
MoneyKit (read-only)
Read-only connection reads transaction history. No ability to move money, ever.
BankruptPro vault
Transactions are computed into the case file and encrypted at rest.
Your inbox
The signed case file lands with your firm. Download links expire.
MoneyKit — read-only bank connection
Clients connect their bank account through MoneyKit, a read-only aggregation provider. MoneyKit's connection can read transaction history — it cannot move money, initiate a transfer, or make a payment.
BankruptPro never receives or stores the client's online-banking username or password. Authentication happens directly between the client and their bank through MoneyKit's connection flow.
No credit pull is ever performed as part of this connection.
What the client sees before connecting
Before a client links an account, the intake flow states plainly what is being requested and why: that the connection is read-only, that it is used to prepare their bankruptcy case file, and that they can decline and upload statements instead. Consent is captured before any connection is made, and the client can revoke access at any time.
A client who won't link a bank account can upload PDF statements instead; the file notes which figures are self-reported versus verified.
Encryption
Case data is encrypted in transit and encrypted at rest in the vault. Finished case files are delivered as cryptographically signed PDFs, and download links expire rather than remaining open indefinitely.
Retention & deletion
Client data is kept only as long as needed to assemble and deliver the case file to your firm. Deletion can be requested at any time — by replying “stop” to any email, or by contacting us directly — and we delete the client's data the same day.
Subprocessors
Vendors that process client data on BankruptPro's behalf:
- MoneyKit — read-only bank connection and transaction data.
- Resend — delivery of the finished case file by email.
